Assistant Secretary of State for Worldwide Narcotics and Regulation Enforcement Affairs (INL) Todd D. Robinson will journey to Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos from June 6 – 17 to check with and deepen cooperation with regional associates on transnational legal threats.
When in Thailand from June 6 to 9, Assistant Secretary Robinson will meet with senior authorities officers to examine bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern, such as counternarcotics, transnational criminal offense, and border security. The Assistant Secretary will take a look at the International Law Enforcement Academy in Bangkok, a joint effort involving the U.S. Govt and the Royal Thai Federal government, to observe instruction courses. He will also participate in a tour of the Golden Triangle to explore ongoing bilateral counter trafficking attempts and added requires with Thai law enforcement counterparts.
Whilst in Vietnam from June 9 to 15, Assistant Secretary Robinson will meet up with with Vietnamese federal government and regulation enforcement officers to explore precedence regulation enforcement difficulties, maritime security, and illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing. The Assistant Secretary will also preside about the launch of the Section of Condition-funded “Strengthening Justice for Little ones in Vietnam” program, which aims to counter boy or girl trafficking and make improvements to boy or girl security in the legal justice method, carried out by the Global Organization for Migration and UNICEF. Finally, Assistant Secretary Robinson will tour two INL-funded instruction amenities designed for the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Division of Fisheries Methods Surveillance.
